Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are engaged

Pop superstar Britney Spears is engaged to actor and fitness enthusiast Sam Asghari after dating for more than four years. 

“I can’t fucking believe it,” the singer said, announcing the news on Monday, September 13. 

In the Instagram video, Spears showed off her engagement ring. “Look at that. You like it?” Asghari can be heard saying in the clip, to which Spears replied with a loud “Yes!” 

Asghari also uploaded a photo of them kissing, with Spears holding out her engagement ring finger to the camera. 

Brandon Cohen, Asghari’s manager, confirmed the couple’s engagement. “The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication, and love expressed to them,” Cohen told PEOPLE Magazine. 

Spears, 39, and Asghari, 27, first met on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video in October 2016. She made her relationship with Asghari Instagram official in January 2017. 

Since then, Asghari has remained by Spears’ side as she continues to fight to end her conservatorship battle against father Jamie Spears. 

In a February 2021 interview, Asghari told PEOPLE that he wants “nothing but the best for [his] better half,” “[I] will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves. I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together.” 

In August 2021, Spears said that Asghari helped her through the “hardest years” of her life. In September 2021, Jamie Spears petitioned a Los Angeles court to end the singer’s 13-year conservatorship. 

Spears was previously married to Jason Alexander in 2004, and dancer Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, with whom she has two sons, Preston and Jayden. – Rappler.com
