Actor Dennis Trillo met Oscar Best Directors Bong Joon-ho and Chloé Zhao at the recently concluded 78th Venice Film Festival held in Venice, Italy.
Trillo, who was present for the international premiere of the movie On The Job: The Missing 8, uploaded several photos from the event on his Instagram on Sunday, September 12. Trillo plays Roman Rubio, a convict who’s wrongfully convicted but turns into a hitman while in prison in The Missing 8.
Bong is the head of the jury for the 2021 Venice Film Festival. He is joined by Zhao, Cynthia Erivo, Alexander Nanau, Saverio Costanza, Virginie Efira, and Sarah Gadon.
“Mission accomplished. Thank you, tito Bong,” he wrote in one of his posts.

Trillo also posed with Nomadland director Zhao along with On The Job: The Missing 8 producers Quark Henares, Stacey Bascon, and director-producer Erik Matti.
In a separate post, Trillo shared the praises he received from the festival jury members. “They all loved you… You were so great,” Bong can be heard saying in the video.
Erivo said, “You were brilliant. I hope to see you in many, many more villain roles. You were amazing.”
Trillo replied, “Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.”
In the caption, the actor said he’s still in disbelief over the reactions he received for his performance. “Nananaginip ba ako? (Am I dreaming)” he wrote.
On The Job: The Missing 8 was the lone Philippine entry to the main competition. It received a five-minute standing ovation after it premiered at the prestigious film festival. Lead star John Arcilla bagged the Coppi Volpi (Volpi Cup) for Best Actor.
Based on true events, On The Job: The Missing 8 tells the story of a local radio journalist Sisoy (Arcilla) and a hitman-inmate Roman (Trillo) as they negotiate and question their loyalty to a well-known politician after eight people go missing. – Rappler.com
