Melissa Ricks on future husband: ‘God gave me Michael’

Days after she got engaged to boyfriend Michael Macatangay, actress Melissa Ricks posted the engagement video made by Nice Print Photos on her Instagram Wednesday, September 2.

“I’m engaged,” she wrote, thanking Nice Print for capturing the moment and thanking those present during the event.

One of Melissa’s good friends, ABS-CBN entertainment reporter and anchor Gretchen Fullido, shared that Michael proposed to Melissa in Batangas last August 29.

In the video, Michael shared that he was already thinking of proposing to Melissa even before the pandemic hit the country.

“Sabi ko nga God gave us this relationship kaya hindi pwede patagalin, hindi na pwedeng pahabain. No reason na hindi ako para hindi ako mag-propose sa iyo. No reason na hindi kita mahalin,” Michael said.

(God have us this relationship, so there’s no reason to wait any longer. There’s no reason for me not to propose. There’s no reason for me not to love you.)

Melissa said she is thankful God gave her Michael.

“I’m very thankful and blessed ako na God placed him in my life at sa time na hindi ko talaga akalain na I would fall in love again pa. Dahil talagang isinuko ko na kay Lord. Sabi ko, ‘Lord, ikaw na ang bahala sa akin.’ And God gave me Michael,” she said.

(I’m very thankful and blessed because God placed him in my life at a time when I didn’t think I’d fall in love again. I gave it all up to God. I said, ‘Lord, I leave it all to you.’ And God gave me Michael.)

Melissa was previously in a relationship with Charles Togezaki, with whom she shares a daughter, 5-year-old Kiera. – Rappler.com
