Gerald Anderson admits he is ‘very happy’ with Julia Barretto

Gerald Anderson has admitted that he is ‘very happy’ with Julia Barretto, after also explaining his side in his controversial break-up with Bea Alonzo.

Gerald and Bea’s relationship ended in 2019, after years of being together. At the time, Bea said that Gerald “just started not talking” to her, essentially ghosting her.

Julia, who was Gerald’s co-star in the film Between Maybes was romantically linked to him in the aftermath of his and Bea’s break-up, and was even speculated to be a third party. At the time, they denied the cheating rumors, and also said that they were just friends.

Gerald has barely addressed the controversy, but opened up in an interview with Boy Abunda that aired on the talk show host’s channel on March 5.

When asked by Boy if he was happy because of Julia Barretto, Gerald responded: “Very happy. Very happy, tito Boy, it’s a yes.”

“You guys are happy?” Boy pressed, to which Gerald responded, “Sobra (very much), tito Boy,” though he didn’t explicitly say that they were in a relationship.

Before talking about Julia, Gerald also spoke about his past relationship with Bea, saying that he didn’t ghost her, as she had claimed.

When asked by Boy if he and Bea had a formal breakup, he responded by saying that he had walked away from what had become a toxic relationship.

“Ano po ba yung definition ng ghosting? Kasi ang dating sa akin, nasa gitna kami ng dinner tapos nagdecide ako magwalk out and di magpapakita kahit kailan. Yun ba ang definition? Or is it walking away from a very unhealthy, toxic – not saying na siya yung toxic or ako yung toxic, but being together yung very toxic, yung hindi nirerespeto yung explanation na binibigay mo, na hindi tinatanggap – after months and months and months of being on the rocks,” he said.

“If yun yung ghosting (if that is ghosting), I’m guilty of one of those two,” he said, but responded to Boy’s following question by saying “Wala po akong ghinost (I didn’t ghost anyone).”

Boy also asked Gerald if there was a conversation that happened when his and Bea’s relationship ended, to which Gerald said there had been “too many conversations.”

While Gerald and Julia have never posted publicly about each other, many eagle-eyed followers picked out separate photos of the two in similar locations.

Julia, who at the time of the controversy was fresh from a break-up with actor Joshua Garcia, also recently starred in a music video with him for Moira dela Torre’s song, “Paubaya,” in which the two have a heartfelt conversation about their past relationship.

Julia has yet to address her and Gerald’s relationship status. – Rappler.com
