Ice Seguerra said on Sunday, November 15 that his father, Decoroso “Dick” Seguerra, has died.

On Instagram, Ice wrote: “Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our beloved, Decoroso “Dick” Seguerra. Umakyat na siya sa heaven bandang tanghali ngayong Nov. 15, 2020 para makipagvideoke kina Matt Monroe at Frank Sinatra.” (He went up to heaven around noontime today, November 15, 2020, for videoke with Matt Monroe and Frank Sinatra)

“An awesome father, husband, brother, lolo, friend, leader; he has touched many lives by his kindness, gentle support, and most of all, his sense of humor.”

Ice said that details of the wake will be finalized. He also thanked those who
sent prayers for their family.

Makakapahinga ka na (Your can rest now), OG Pogi. No more pain. We love you always and forever, Daddy.”

In August, Ice shared that his father was battling cancer. In a post, Ice said that the situation brought all his family closer together.

Ice has since been documenting his time with his dad. On October 17, Ice said that they visited the grave of Daddy Dick’s parents in Quezon.

In an October 30 post, Ice shared how the family had been spending time and making beautiful memories together.

Ice’s wife, Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson Liza Diño also paid tribute to Daddy Dick.

“A very intimate Father and son moment between Ice and Daddy Dick this morning as they share their last moments together,” she wrote on Facebook.

“‘I love you, pogi’ this is what Daddy fondly tells Ice. Ice would say I love you back then sing him his favorite songs. But today is special because Ice finally got the chance to tell daddy something that he’s never told him before…As he was standing by his side, he held his hand and said. ‘Thank you, daddy…for being the BEST dad,'” wrote Liza.

“Thank you for loving me like your own daughter. Wag po kayong mag-alala, aalagaan ko po at mamahalin ko po si Ice, and the whole family like the way you loved them.Mahal na mahal na mahal ka namin.”

(Don’t you worry, I will take care and love Ice and the whole family the way you loved them. We love you.)
