'Madaming nakakasabik na eksena ang dapat po ninyong abangan,' says Julia Montes

Julia Montes is now gearing up for her television comeback as she prepares to join the long-running action teleserye FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

On Tuesday, August 3, the 26-year-old actress gave fans a sneak peek of her motorcycle training in an Instagram video.

Promise ko po sa inyo is to keep you updated. (There’s a lot of exciting scenes you should watch out for. I promise I’ll keep you updated). Wish me luck, guys! This is thrilling!,” she wrote in the caption.

In a separate post, Julia also shared a video of her firing a gun.

Julia previously shared in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN Entertainment that FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano lead actor, director, and producer Coco Martin helped her with her training.

Coco said, “Bilang lalake, ako ‘yung nakakaalam. Trinain ko siya sa baril, sa pagmo-motor, sa fight scenes. ‘Yung suporta ba, kailangan ibigay. Ako ‘yung natataranta at ninenerbiyos.”

(As a guy, I have more knowledge. I trained her in firing a gun, riding a motorcycle, and even on fight scenes. You have to give her the support she needs. I’m the one who feels anxious and nervous.)

Since it’s her first primetime teleserye after taking a break in showbiz in 2018, Julia admitted feeling pressure, especially that she’s working with Coco. “May pressure syempre, di mawawala ‘yun… pero ‘yung pressure, gusto ko ma-meet ‘yung expectations niya and ng team. I’m just so proud of him sa lahat ng mga na-achieve niya ngayon.”

(Of course, I feel pressured… but it’s the kind where I want to meet Coco’s and the team’s expectations. I’m just so proud of Coco for whatever he has achieved now.)

While she hasn’t provided any details about her character, Julia has relayed her excitement for being part of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. “‘Yung challenge and journey ng character mo, hindi basta-basta. Hindi siya ‘yung typical na teleserye na kapag nakapasok ka, alam mo na agad. Ito may challenge din sa kung ano ‘yung kaya mo pang ibigay kapag binigyan ka ng scenario,” she said.

(The challenge and journey of a character in Ang Probinsyano is no joke. It’s not just a typical teleserye where you already know what’s going to happen to your character from the get go. Being part of this show gives an actor the challenge to know what their capabilities are.)

Julia and Coco, who last shared the screen together in 2015’s Wansapanataym’s Yamashita’s Treasures, think that it’s their comfort level and dedication to their craft that makes fans excited to see them work together again.

Julia and Coco have long been rumored to be dating, though neither of them have addressed the rumors. Aside from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the two are also working together on a Brillante Mendoza project filmed in Pola, Oriental Mindoro. – Rappler.com
