K Brosas files complaint against contractor who ‘abandoned’ her house

K Brosas filed a complaint on Friday, September 10, against the contractor of her house, who allegedly abandoned the project even though she already paid for it in full. 

“Nakakalungkot lang na kahit malaking pera na ang nabigay ko at kung tutuusin, tapos ko na ang pagbabayad sa buong halaga, mahigit kumulang pitong milyon… inabandona pa ng pinagkatiwalaan ko ang nasabing bahay,” she said in an Instagram post. 

(It’s disheartening because even though I’ve already shelled out a huge amount of money, in fact, I already finished paying the whole amount, more or less PHP 7 million… the house was still abandoned by someone I trusted.) 

The comedian said that she met this contractor several years ago to start building her house. “Isipin niyo nga naman, sa ilang taong pag-aartista ko, ngayon pa lang ako nagpapagawa ng sariling bahay. (In my several years in the showbiz industry, I only started building my house recently.)” 

She added that the house was also for her child. “Maiintindihan niyo naman siguro ako na pinaghirapan ko ‘yung pera na galing sa dugo, pawis, at kakulangan ng tulog. (Perhaps you’ll empathise with me knowing that I worked hard for the money which came from blood, sweat and lack of sleep.)” 

K said she suffered a lot because of the whole ordeal. She said that she tried to deal with it on her own, but nothing happened so she decided to file an official complaint. 

“Ilang beses akong nakiusap, umiyak at humingi ng tulong, pero wala pa ding nangyayari. Alam lahat ng kaibigan ko kung ilang beses na akong nag-breakdown, napadalas uli ang anxiety attacks ko dahil sa sobrang stress… kaya napilitan akong maghain ng demanda kaninang tanghali sa tulong ng mga abogado at testigo ko,” she wrote. 

(I begged, cried, and asked for help several times but nothing happened. All of my friends know how much I’ve broken down, my anxiety attacks have been happening a lot because of stress… That’s why I was forced to file a complaint this afternoon with the help of my lawyers and witnesses.) 

K did not go into details about the complaint she filed, but instead thanked her lawyers. “Naniniwala pa din ako sa justice system natin (I still have faith in our justice system.) I hope justice will be served at the end of the day.” 

In a January 2019 post, K shared photos of her under-construction house on Instagram. “Konti na lang po at masasabi ko na at last na may bahay ako na sarili, doesn’t matter gaano katagal ang hinintay ko,” she said then. (Just a little more and I finally have a house to call my own. It doesn’t matter how long I waited.)
