Instead of throwing a grand celebration, Karla Estrada decided to give food packs around Metro Manila to mark son Daniel Padilla’s birthday on Monday, April 26.
(Usually when someone in my family celebrates their birthday, we automatically throw a huge party. But because of our situation right now, we’ll be the one giving you food instead).
In a separate post, Karla also thanked her friends in Tacloban, Leyte who organized a community pantry for Daniel’s birthday.
On her Instagram, she posted several photos of the pantry with volunteers organizing the packed food items, residents lining up, and a tarpaulin greeting Daniel for his birthday.
(Thank you to my friends in Tacloban who set-up this pantry. This is their initiative to celebrate Daniel’s birthday).
To God be all the glory,” she continued.
(My friends are a big blessing. It’s a good feeling to be able to help others.)
The first community pantry was set up along Maginhawa Street in Quezon City on April 14 by 26-year-old Ana Patricia Non. Since then, various community pantries have been set up all over the Philippines. Several celebrities, including Gabbi Garcia and Angel Locsin have also set-up their own pantries. – Rappler.com
