Kim Kardashian is officially a billionaire

Kim Kardashian appeared for the first time on Forbes’ annual world’s billionaire list on Tuesday, April 6. 

Forbes said that Kim “is now worth $1 billion, up from $780 million in October, thanks to two lucrative businesses – KKW Beauty and Skims – as well as cash from reality television and endorsement deals, and a number of smaller investments.” 

The 40-year old reality star ranked No. 2674 on the list that was topped by Jeff Bezos ($177 billion), Elon Musk ($151 billion), Bernard Arnault ($150 billion) and Bill Gates ($124 billion) 

Kim launched her cosmetic line KKW Beauty in 2017 and loungewear line Skims in 2019. Aside from her companies, Forbes claimed that the rest of Kim’s assets includes investment in real estate and shares for Disney, Amazon, Netflix, and Adidas. 

Her half-sister Kylie Jenner, who was named youngest “self-made” billionaire in 2019, is no longer on the list. Forbes said that the 23-year-old “is worth just $700 million,” citing a tough year for cosmetic sales due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

Kim rose to fame for starring in E! Television reality series with her family, Keeping Up with the Kardashian. The show which premiered in 2007 is airing its final season this year, after 20 seasons and 14 years on television. 

In February 2021, Kim filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West after being married for almost seven years and having four children together. – Rappler.com
