Lindsay Lohan pays tribute to ‘Parent Trap’ mom, the late Natasha Richardson

Actress Lindsay Lohan shared a sentimental birthday tribute to her late The Parent Trap on-screen mother Natalie Richardson on Tuesday, May 11.

In an Instagram post, Lohan, 34, posted a still from her breakout 1998 movie with the caption, “”Happy Birthday Angel #natasharichardson,” including a prayer emoji and blue heart emoji.

The photo showed Richardson wrapping an arm around a young Lohan (dressed as her character, Annie from London) as she lovingly looked up to her on-screen mother, Elizabeth James.

In a virtual Parent Trap reunion last year, Richardson’s co-star Dennis Quaid, who played her on-screen ex-husband Nick Parker, remembered the late actress as someone who brought joys and generosity to the set.

“Natasha had such an elegance and grace and she was so maternal to me,” Lohan also said in a statement during the reunion.

Elaine Hendrix, who played the would-be stepmother to Lohan’s characters, Meredith Blake shared that Richardson “would come into the hair and makeup trailer” and “would literally swoon over talking about Liam and her kids.”

“She would call him ‘My Liam’ and she really seemed to have it all, which to me made what happened even more heartbreaking,” Hendrix added.

Richardson passed away at 45 from a brain hemorrhage in 2009, following a skiing accident in Quebec’s Mont Tremblant. She would have turned 58 this year. Richardson and actor Liam Neeson married in 1994. They have two sons together.
