Liza Soberano thanks fans, supporters, says she ‘needed a break’

Liza Soberano thanked fans and supporters on Tuesday, November 10, after she took time off on social media the past month.

“Hi everyone! Sorry, I’ve been MIA for a while,” she tweeted. “Just savoring the time I have with the people most special to me.” 

“But I do constantly have all of you at the back of my mind and I just want to say thank you so much for all the love and support everyone has been showing me this past month,” she said.

The actress is currently in the US where she has been spending time with family and taking care of her mother.

In a second post, Liza admitted that the past month has been challenging for her.

“It’s honestly been a very trying time for me and I wanted to express how I was feeling with all of you but it was just too soon for me. I needed to take a break and think about life, my goals, and what I think my mission is in life.”

In October, Liza was red-tagged on social media and “reminded” by a military general, Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr, to distance herself from groups such as Gabriela.

Liza was one of the speakers of the Gabriela Youth’s webinar called Mga Tinig ni Nene: Reclaiming Our Voices on the International Day of the Girl Child. In the forum, she called on influencers to use their voices for children and women.

Her legal counsel Jun Lim denounced the red-tagging, saying that issues involving children and women are Liza’s personal advocacies. – Rappler.com
