The actress moves to ABS-CBN after being with GMA for 15 years

ABS-CBN announced on Thursday, September 16, that actress Lovi Poe has joined the network.

“Lovi Poe is now officially a Kapamilya,” ABS-CBN announced in a tweet.

The attached photo showed Lovi at the contract signing ceremony, with ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO of broadcast Cory Vidanes, group CFO Rick Tan, Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal, and Lovi’s talent manager Leo Dominguez.

The network has yet to announce Lovi’s upcoming projects.

Lovi was previously signed with ABS-CBN’s rival network GMA-7, where she was a talent for 15 years and performed iconic roles in series such as Bakekang, Yesterday’s Bride, and Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real. Her last project with the network was the romantic comedy series Owe My Love, which aired from February to June 2021. Lovi is also known for her films Thy Womb, Woke Up Like This, and Hindi Tayo Pwede.

Reports of Lovi joining ABS-CBN circulated around early 2021 after her contract with GMA expired in 2020. At the time, Lovi said that everything was still “under negotiations” when asked about her rumored network transfer.

“I think it’s best to keep it private because I don’t want to be… I want to respect both networks,” she told the press during the  media conference for her movie The Other Wife in July.

She added then, “To grow as an artist, I don’t think you’re supposed to box or keep yourself like just doing the same or working with the same people over and over again.”

Lovi, 32, is also set to star in the Hollywood film The Chelsea Cowboy with Alex Pettyfer and Poppy Delevingne.  – Rappler.com
