Lyca Gairanod joins Viva Artists Agency

Voice of the Philippines Kids winner Lyca Gairanod has joined Viva Artists Agency as its latest talent on Wednesday, November 25.

On Instagram, Lyca, 16, posted a photo of herself at the Viva office with the caption: “Thank you so much for the warm welcome,  @vivaartistsagency #newfamily #viva and to my boss @veroniquecorpus.”

During an online press conference, Lyca said that her mentor Sarah Geronimo was one of the reasons why she decided to try her luck with Viva. Sarah coached Lyca in the Voice Kids.

“Sinabi po sa akin ni Ate Sarah na kung gusto kong lumipat sa Viva, magsabi lang sa kanya,” she said.

(Ate Sarah to me that if I want to go to Viva, I should just inform her.)

“Nag-uusap pa rin kami ni Coach. Nagbabalitaan kami sa isa’t isa. S’yempre po, malaking opportunity po sa akin na sinasabi niyang gusto niya akong maging part po ng mga concert niya.“

(Coach and I still talk. We update each another. It’s also a big opportunity for me, since she told me she wants me to be part of her concerts.)

Lyca also said she doesn’t regret focusing on her studies ahead of her singing career.

When asked what to expect from her now that she’s with Viva, Lyca said that she would like to explore Soul and R&B while also exploring acting opportunities.

“Iba na po ang journey ko sa dati sa journey ko po ngayon. Parang lume-level up na po kaya kailangan may mapatunayan po tayo ngayon,” she said.

(My jouney is different now. It’s leveled up so I need to prove myself this time.)

“Ngayong nandito na ako sa Viva, gagawin ko ang lahat ng makakaya ko para mas maging maganda yung journey ko po dito.”

(Now that I’m part of Viva, I’ll do everything to have a good journey here.)

In 2014, Lyca became the first winner of the Voice of the Philippines Kids franchise. One of her big moments after winning the show was singing in an event during Pope Francis’ Philippine visit in 2016.

She was also part of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids and was in the movie Tatlong Bibe in 2017. – Rappler.com
