Makati prosecutor dismisses physical injuries complaint vs Tony Labrusca

The Makati prosecutor’s office has dismissed the slight physical injuries complaint filed against actor Tony Labrusca.

The complaint was dismissed on the grounds that it was filed past the two-month prescription period for the offense. The complaint against the actor was filed only June 4, or nearly five months after he allegedly choked a man at a house party on January 16.

“Considering that the complaint for slight physical injuries against respondent was only filed on June 4, 2021, or after more than two months from the date of its alleged commission, the crime is already extinguished by reason of prescription,” said the resolution signed by Makati Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Edmund Seña.

“Wherefore, premises considered, it is respectfully recommended that the complaint for slight physical injuries against Anthony Angel Jones Labrusca, Jr., a.k.a. ‘Tony Labrusca’ be dismissed on the ground of prescription,” Seña said.

The actor’s lawyer Joji Alonso maintained her client’s innocence, even as the complaint was dimissed on a technicality.

“While the decision of the Honorable Office was based on technical grounds, we remain steadfast that our client is innocent from the aforesaid charge,” she told ABS-CBN.

Labrusca is also facing a complaint for acts of lasciviousness, after he allegedly exposed a woman’s chest and forcefully pulled her to sit on his lap on the same night as the supposed choking incident. – Rappler.com
