
GMA-7 announced on Wednesday, February 10 that actor Miguel Tanfelix would be playing Steve Armstrong in the Philippine adaptation of Voltes V: Legacy.
Landing the role of Voltes V’s main leader is a big deal for Miguel, who’s well aware of the responsibilities that come with it.
“Si Steve, leader siya eh. So dapat alam ko paano umasta ang isang leader, paano yung confidence,” the actor in an interview that aired on 24 Oras.
(Steve is a leader. So I should know how to act like one.)
Aside from the physical training, the 22-year-old actor shared that he’s been listening to podcasts and reading up on books regarding leadership.
As he volts in with the rest of the cast, let’s take a trip down memory lane to trace Miguel’s showbiz journey and some of his famous roles.
Starstruck Kids
We first saw a glimpse of a young Miguel when he became part of Starstruck Kids in 2004. He was the first prince of kids’ season, jumpstarting his career in GMA.


Supporting roles and Pagaspas in Mulawin
Miguel landed several roles as the young version of characters in several GMA shows shuck as Majika, La Vendetta, and Makapiling Ka Muli, among others. But it would be the role of Pagaspas, the half-human, half-bird in the telefantasya Mulawin, that would really boost his personality.
Miguel would reprise the role two more times on television – in the 2016 remake of Encantadia, where he assisted Reyna Amihan (Kylie Padilla) and the sang’gres and in Mulawin vs Ravena in 2017.


Niño
In 2014, Miguel got one of his biggest roles as Niño, in the series of the same name. The show was directed by Maryo J de los Reyes.

BiGuel tandem
Miguel also starred in a number of shows with perennial screen partner Bianca Umali. Aside from Niño, the two also starred in Mulawin vs Ravena, Once Upon A Kiss, Wish I May, Kambal Karibal, and Sahaya.
Hosting Starstruck
In 2015, Miguel joined Rocco Nacino, Mark Herras, Kris Bernal, Dingdong Dantes, and Megan Young as hosts of Starstruck season 6.

Movies
Miguel starred in several films including Mulawin the Movie, Banal, and Family History.

Dancer
Miguel doesn’t just act. He’s also a good dancer and posts dance covers on his social media accounts.

As he takes on the role of Voltes V’s leader in Voltes V: Legacy, Miguel has promised a great show for fans, both old and new.
