Actress and musician Miley Cyrus took to social media on Thursday, March 25, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Disney series Hannah Montana

The Plastic Hearts singer shared her sentimental letter for her alter-ego with the caption, “Dear @HannahMontana, I still love you 15 years later. #HMForever.”

Miley started the heartfelt post by reflecting on the immense success of the Disney show and how her wildest dreams became a reality.

“Although you are considered to be an ‘alter-ego’ in reality there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glove than I did in my bare hands. We had an equal exchange in which you provided me with a superlative amount of fame in return to the anonymity I could gift to you,” Miley, 28, wrote.

“But, a lot has changed since then. You were a rocket that flew me to the moon and never brought me back down,” she added.

Cyrus recounted all the milestones in life that she experienced together with Hannah Montana, including the good and bad moments. She also expressed gratitude for her alter-ego, crew, and cast mates for becoming her family throughout the 6 years of filming.

“They gave me you. The greatest gift a girl could ask for. I love you, Hannah Montana,” her message concluded.

In an unexpected, sweet twist, a verified Hannah Montana Twitter Account popped out for the first time to reply to Miley’s letter, saying “it was nice to hear from you, Miley Cyrus. It’s only been a decade.”

Disney’s Hannah Montana helped Miley Cyrus launch her career as a pop star and catapulted her into global fame. It follows Miley playing two opposite characters: a normal teenager by day and a young superstar by night.

Hannah Montana went off-air after its 4th season and 98 episodes in 2011. The show also had its own feature film spin-off, Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009). – with reports from Aloe Ynion/Rappler.com
