Olivia Lamasan confirms project for ‘2gether’ star in development

ABS-CBN managing director Olivia Lamasan confirmed they were negotiating and developing a joint Dreamscape Entertainment and GMMTV project, which would have one of the stars of the hit BL series 2gether on board.

“Hindi ko sasabihin eksato kung ano but yes, meron in development,” she said in an online press conference on Wednesday, January 27, when asked about the chances of the Thai stars working with Filipino actors.

(I can’t give you exact details but there’s something in development.)

Lamasan was in an online conference to promote the movie Hello Stranger, which will premiere on February 12.

“[It will be] under Deo Edrinal’s Dreamscape,” she said.

The ABS-CBN executive did not say if the project would involve both 2gether stars Bright Vachirawit or Win Metawin or just one of the actors.

2gether: The Series, which first aired in 2020, starred Bright and Win. The show became wildly popular in the Philippines, leading to a BL craze in the Philippines. Following fan demand, GMMTV released (Still) 2gether: The series months after the first series concluded.

The two have a solid Filipino fan base and held an online meet and greet with fans in December 2020. The two stars are set to appear in the Thai remake of Meteor Garden, airing some time in 2021. – Alexa Villano/Rappler.com
