WATCH: Adorable royals George, Charlotte, Louis in chat with David Attenborough
Natural historian Sir David Attenborough gamely answers questions from Britain's young royals

That Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are adorable is hardly a surprise – but that the 3 young royals are interested in animals (even the 8-legged kind) was revealed in the most adorable way in a recent video posted by the family’s official social media accounts.

In a short video, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 3, each took turns asking natural historian Sir David Attenborough questions about nature – from extinction, to spiders, and his own favorite animal.

“Well, let’s hope there won’t be any,” said Attenborough, responding to George’s question on which animal the BBC broadcaster thinks will go extinct next. He then went on to share his own experience with mountain gorillas in Africa that had a population of only 250.

Forty years later, over 1,000 of that very same species exist – thanks to the effort of conservationists and animal lovers around the world. “You can save an animal if you want to. People around the world are doing that because animals are so precious,” he added.

Charlotte went next, asking the 94-year-old if he likes spiders because she likes them too. “Spiders are so clever. Have you ever watched one trying to built its web? That is extraordinary!” he told the 5-year-old.

Not to be outdone, the youngest of the Kensington royals asked the British icon what his favorite animal was. “I think I like monkeys best. Because they’re such fun,” he said.

Before young Louis – or any other viewer – could possibly even think about bringing a monkey home, Attenborough said monkeys belong in the forest. The BBC icon then said that between a puppy and kitten, he’d pick a puppy.

His latest film, David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet, recently began streaming on Netflix. The BBC broadcaster earlier held a private outdoor screening of the film with Prince William, the 3 children’s father.

Attenborough is currently working on a new series about plants called The Green Planet. In late September, he also opened an Instagram account and quickly attracted over a million followers. Barely a week later, Attenborough has over 5 million followers on the platform. – Rappler.com
