MANILA, Philippines – South Korean actor Lee Ji-han, who was best known for his participation in the audition show Produce 101, was confirmed to have passed away in Seoul’s Itaewon crowd crush. He was 24 years old (25 in South Korean age). 

The actor’s agency 935 Entertainment confirmed the news. “We also hoped that it wasn’t true, and we were very shocked to hear the news,” a representative from the label was quoted as saying, according to a Soompi report. 

A Korea JoongAng Daily report added that the agency also sent their condolences to the actor’s family and fans. 

“We still remember Lee, who always had a big smile and greeted people with energy. He was a bright and pure person and we cannot believe that we cannot see him anymore,” they said in a statement. 

Lee’s cast mates from the audition series, such as Park Hee-seok, Kim Do-hyun, and Cho Jin-hyung, took to social media to grieve Lee’s passing. 

Lee joined the second season of Produce 101 in 2017. In 2019, he made his debut as an actor through the web series Today Was Another Nam Hyeon Day.
