Raymond Bagatsing announced on April 22, Thursday that he has now recovered after first testing positive for COVID-19.
The 53-year old actor posted the results of his COVID-19 test on his Instagram account. “Got my negative result. Thank you all for your well wishes and concern, I am touched and privileged to be connected with you all, even through social media,” he said.
Raymond also admitted that he was in disbelief when he first found out that he tested positive because he wasn’t experiencing any symptoms.
“After getting a positive, I called the doctor that it might be a mistake because I feel strong. Maybe weak sometimes from caloric deficit and daily IF (fasting) but I don’t feel sick at all. Or I thought so, anyway… Doctor advised that since I am asymptomatic, to be healthy and get my lungs stronger,” he shared.
“One week into my quarantine, I did feel wheezing in my lungs. Intuitionally, I incorporated cold-pressed malunggay to my daily diet. I still worked out heavily, but I ate more,” the actor continued.
Aside from sharing his health practices during the two-week home quarantine, Raymond also gave tips on how to deal with the “psychological challenges” of battling the coronavirus.
“Try to overcome the mind’s anxiety and fears. Know that it’s just a natural reaction, but not the entire truth… Mind’s fear and negative reactions can make everything worse or better. It is a challenge, but one worth understanding. You are far more than the mind dictates. Aim to be still, relaxed and healthy. Reach out. Believe. Keep going,” he concluded the post.
COVID-19 cases have been surging in the past month, with the Philippines recording 9,661 news cases as of April 24, Saturday. “NCR Plus” – Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal – is under modified enhanced community quarantine until April 30. – Rappler.com
