Philippine showbiz is in mourning following the death of celebrity photographer Raymund Isaac on Saturday, September 4, at the age of 59.

Many of Raymund’s celebrity clients and friends took to social media to pay tribute to the photographer.

Singer Lea Salonga shared photos with Raymund from 2007 and 2020 and thanked him for his “kindness through the years.”

Singer Jessa Zaragoza wrote about how heartbroken she is over the news, saying that Raymund had been present in important moments of her life since 1997.

“Thank you for the wonderful friendship my dearest ‘Mund…. Madalas kang kasama sa important events of my life with regards my career projects, sa lahat ng pagkakataon na ikaw ang nag-pictorial sa amin and gumawa ng music videos (You’ve been with me in most of the important events in my life with regards to my career projects, you were taking shots for our commercials and music videos). Thank you for loving us – me, Dingdong and Jayda,” she wrote.

Actress Pinky Amador uploaded a photo from her last photo shoot with Raymund, calling him “pure genius.”

“The creative industry has lost a passionate visionary. You were always thinking and planning ahead, but at the same time could be ever-so spontaneous,” she wrote.

Singer Zsa Zsa Padilla said she lost another friend.

Actor Xian Lim wrote how he considered Raymund as his family, saying that he had worked with the photographer since he was just starting in showbiz.

“There are times when I would feel low and he always knew how to cheer me up…. We became closer as a team. It was no longer a company, photographer, artist relationship. He transformed our shoots into a playground where I can just be myself. We became a family,” Xian said.

Actor Richard Yap said of Raymund, “Proud to have been one of your subjects.”

Singer Sitti Navarro said she was still in disbelief over Raymund’s passing. “I am grateful I got to know and work with you,” she wrote.

Doug Kramer called Raymund a “legend in the industry,” and thanked the photographer for creating beautiful and fun shoots for his family.

“You’re a true professional. A talented one that captured so much beautiful photos of our family,” he said.

Host Christine Babao remembered how easy it was working with Raymund because of his “infectious spirit.”

“We all have fond memories of working with you…. We worked together for several other prints and each time, you made the shoot breezy and memorable because of your jokes,” she said.

Christine added: “We will never forget the way you touched our lives. You will be remembered for your body of work.”

Singer Guji Lorenzana thanked Raymund for helping him when he was just starting in showbiz.

“He is one of the people at the beginning of my career who told me I had the potential to make it in the entertainment industry. He gave me sound advice, and I will never forget,” he said.

A veteran in the photography business, Raymund started out doing fashion editorials and later branched out into beauty and advertising photography.

Through his work he photographed some of showbiz’s biggest stars, including Vilma Santos, Piolo Pascual, Lea Salonga, and Judy Ann Santos. – Rappler.com
