'COVID is real! In my 43 years of existence, I’ve had fever, the flu, and coughs but COVID symptoms can’t be compared to what I’ve experienced before,' says Cruz

Sunshine Cruz confirmed on Wednesday, April 14, that she is currently battling COVID-19.

In her Instagram post, Sunshine said that she went through a “denial stage” after getting the results last March 27. “It took a while for reality to sink in, I thought I would be asymptomatic and would probably just isolate myself for 14 days to make sure that the people at home will be safe as well. But here I am, still isolated with symptoms after already taking different kinds of strong antibiotics and medicines,” she shared.

The actress also revealed that she’s on her 20th day of isolation and still not allowed out of her room unless her symptoms are gone, to protect her three daughters and household helpers who are staying under the same roof.

“To everyone, COVID is real. In my 43 years of existence, I’ve had fever, the flu, and coughs but COVID symptoms can’t be compared to what I’ve experienced before,” Sunshine wrote.

However, she’s grateful that the “worst is over” as she is due for another RT-PCR test on April 15, Thursday. “I am hoping, praying for a negative result. I am positive that I will test negative! Claiming it,” she said.

Prior to her confirmation, Sunshine documented her recovery journey on her social media accounts. “Headache, body pain is now more tolerable, cough is not as worse, my sense of taste and smell have improved,” she said on April 11, Sunday.

Sunshine is the third Bagong Umaga actress that tested positive for the coronavirus. Heaven Peralejo, in a vlog posted on April 10, revealed that she tested positive during their lock-in taping and had required hospital care. On April 9, Friday, Nikki Valdez shared that she and husband Luis Garcia also got infected with COVID-19. – Rappler.com
