IST Entertainment says VICTON will now be reorganized as a six-member group

MANILA, Philippines – VICTON’s vocalist Heo Chan will be leaving the K-pop group permanently to “not cause further damage” to his bandmates, IST Entertainment announced on Tuesday, October 11.

According to a Soompi report, the agency said that the decision was discussed with Heo Chan and the rest of the VICTON members.

“This decision was made by taking into consideration the opinions of Heo Chan, who said that he did not wish to cause further damage [to the group], and the other members,” the statement read.

Heo Chan’s departure comes after he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. In late September, the idol was suspended from any upcoming group and individual activities following the investigation.

“I’m sincerely reflecting on my wrongdoing, and I’m spending each and every day immersed in regret and self-blame,” he said then.

IST Entertainment said that the group will now be “reorganized as a six-member group consisting of Han Seung-woo, Kang Seung-sik, Im Se-jun, Do Han-se, Choi Byung-chan, and Jung Su-bin.” VICTON will also proceed with their upcoming 2022 VICTON FAN CONCERT [CHRONICLE], but with only five members instead of six. Han Seung-woo is currently on leave for military service.

Formed in 2016, VICTON is known for their songs “What I Said,” “Mayday,” and “nostalgic night.” – Rappler.com
