Real-life couple Rico Blanco and Maris Racal performed live together on the Sunday, September 11 episode of ABS-CBN’s ASAP Natin ‘To.
Rico and Maris sang “Abot Langit,” their first collaboration together, which was first released in April 2019.
“Aside from this is our first time together in ASAP Natin ‘To, masaya ako (I’m happy) because I get to sing with Rico… Rico, thank you for always supporting me,” Maris said after their performance.
ASAP Natin ‘To also threw an early birthday celebration for Maris, who’s turning 24 on September 22. Describing his girlfriend as an “amazing person,” Rico hoped for Maris to continue her passion for music.
“Narinig ko ‘yung mga bagong kanta niya, marami pa siyang ideas, sana ‘wag ka ma-frustrate na medyo challenging ‘yung times ngayon (I heard her new songs and she still has so many ideas. I hope you won’t get frustrated at how challenging these times are),” he said.
Rico continued, “Just continue enjoying what you do because if you enjoy the process, you can dream. Whatever dream, mararating mo (you can achieve it.)”
ASAP Natin ‘To also looked back at the couple’s journey – starting with Maris tweeting in August 2017 about how much she admired the musician, their first photo together in December 2018, releasing their collaborations “Abot Langit” and “Not For Me” in September 2020, and confirming their relationship in May 2021.
Maris and Rico first made headlines after the actress greeted the former Rivermaya frontman on his 48th birthday in March 2021. In an August 2021 Magandang Buhay episode, Maris revealed that her relationship with Rico started before the pandemic.
In June 2021, Maris released “Ate Sandali,” a single from her upcoming mini-album. The song was written by Maris and produced by Rico. – Rappler.com
