Chris Tiu, Clarisse Ong welcome baby girl Amanda Claire

MANILA, Philippines – Basketball star and TV host Chris Tiu and his wife Clarisse Ong welcomed their daughter, Amanda Claire, last Sunday, June 5.

Chris posted the first photo of his daughter on Instagram, Friday, June 10.

"June 5, 2016. The day that changed my life. No championship or accomplishment can compare to the overwhelming joy we felt when this little girl finally entered this world. I've never felt so happy that I was moved to tears. 

"About 9 months ago, I remember just seeing a heartbeat in the ultrasound monitor and now she's a full human being wrapped around our arms, this is truly the miracle of life! And the most wonderful blessing and manifestation of God's generous love. 

"Cla and I would like to thank you all for your prayers and well-wishes! Let's welcome baby Amanda Claire," he said.

Last May, after his team, Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, won the PBA Commissioner's Cup, Chris announced on Instagram that his wife was pregnant with their first child. 

Chris married Clarisse, his childhood sweetheart, in 2013. Aside from basketball, Chris hosts IBILIB: Wonders of Horus on GMA 7 and 1-on-1 Tiu-torials on TV5. Chris is also an entrepreneur, putting up several food and beverage businesses with partners. – Rappler.com
