MANILA, Philippines –  (UPDATED) Cristine Reyes is expecting a baby. She confirmed the news herself on TV. Sa mga Kapamilya po natin, (To all who are family) I want to share po sa inyong lahat (to all of you) that I have a wonderful blessing. I’m having a baby,” she said told the audience on ASAP, Sunday November 16.

Cristine is in a relationship with Ali Khatibi, a mixed martial arts fighter.

Prior to the confirmation, rumors have been circulating since September that Cristine was pregnant. But in a previous interview with Pep, Cristine's sister Ara Mina said that people assumed her sister was pregnant because she herself was having a baby.

Natatawa din ako kasi in-assume nila na buntis din si Cristine. Kasi buntis ako, buntis din ang sister ko,” Ara said at the time. (I find it funny because they assumed that Cristine is pregnant. I am pregnant, my other sister is pregnant.)

“Plus the fact na si Cristine ay inaamin din niya na gusto na rin niyang magka-baby. (Plus the fact Cristine admitted she wants also to have a baby.)

“Very open naman siya dun, pero sabi ko nga sa kanya na paunahin na muna niya ako. So, baka next year siya.” (She is very open to it but I told her to let me go first. So she might follow next year.)

Prior to dating Ali, Cristine was involved with actor Derek Ramsay, whom she starred with in the movie  The Trophy Wife.

In an interview on The Buzz Sunday, November 16, Cristine said that she kept quiet about the pregnancy first because her condition back then was delicate.

Andito na kasi ako sa stage na I’m sure na 100% na safe ako and our baby. I made sure na safe muna kami,” she said.

(I am at the stage that I’m sure that I’m 100% safe and our baby. I made sure that we are safe.)

According to Cristine, the doctor told her to get a lot of bed rest because she had some bleeding during the first trimester.

She said that the baby was planned. – Rappler.com
