MANILA, Philippines - "American Idol" season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez joins the list of performances scheduled for the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
The Filipino-Mexican-American singer is scheduled to perform at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday, September 5 (Thursday, September 6 in Manila), at the second day of the DNC.
Scheduled on the same day are saxophonist Branford Marsalis and DJ Cassidy.
The 17-year-old singer joins a select list of performers at the convention, where US President Barack Obama is set to be re-nominated to run for the presidency. She joins music legend James Taylor, the group Earth, Wind and Fire, and Mary J. Blige, all of whom will perform in Charlotte.
