MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino signed off from her show Kris TV on Wednesday, March 23, after 5 years of being on air.
During the show, Kris once again said that she is taking a break upon the recommendation of her doctors.
She said that she had been suffering from high blood pressure, for which medication alone isn't enough: "No amount of two days, 3 days rest will heal you. Kailangan mo i-regalo sa sarili mo and more importantly ibigay mo 'yung peace of mind mo sa dalawang anak mo and sa mga kapatid mo."
(You need to give yourself some time and most importantly the peace of mind to your two kids and siblings.)
Kris said that she needed travel, exercise, a healthy diet, as well as proper sleep. She also shared that her doctors told her that even if she had been eating well and exercising, her health problem was due to the stress and long work hours.
At one point in the show, Kris tried to hold back her emotions when she shared how she had informed her ABS-CBN bosses of her decision.
"They offered me to sign a contract," Kris shared about ABS-CBN willing to wait for her. "Talagang sinabi nila pirma ka. Once you're ready, you're here. And I said, 'I don't want to do that to you. Kasi what if hindi pa ako ganun kagaling and ayoko naman na maging stagnant kayo. Kasi dynamic itong trabaho natin and all.'"
(They told me to just sign it. Once you're ready, you're here. And I said, 'I don't want to do that to you. Because what if I'm not yet well, and I don't want you to be stagnant. After all, our work in the industry is dynamic and all.')
"Pero super grateful talaga ako. Kasi hindi naman lahat bibigyan nila nun 'di ba?" Kris said.
(But I'm super grateful. Because not everyone is given the chance that they're offering me.)
Kris also said that the bosses had asked to have lunch with her but she said no, saying. "Hindi ko kaya (I can't do it)."
"Ayoko pumunta sa ABS. (I don't want to go to ABS) Parang hard. This was hard," she said.
Kris then thanked all her viewers and followers, saying that she is grateful for all their love and support in the past years.
"Pina-feel niyo that my life is also your life. Na kung anong pinagdadaanan ko, iyon din ang sa inyo. Super-duper maraming salamat, especially to those who said, 'Hintayin ka namin," Kris said.
(You made me feel that my life is also your life. That what I go through, that's what you go through as well. Super-duper thank you, especially to those who said, 'We will wait for you.')
Kris said that she will try to give an update of her journey to her followers on Instagram.
"I don't want to say goodbye kasi babalik ako (I'll be back). I'll make sure of that. Pero I have to come back na healthy ako," she said.
"I will miss you and I'll hope you'll miss me."
"I just want to say again thank you for trusting me because this has really been a relationship based on trust," Kris said of the interviews and features she did in the show.
"Ate [Ballsy] said, 'Don't cry,' so I'm not crying. See you. I'll end it with that. I will see you again."
Two days before the final episode, Kris wrote on Instagram, "Bye everybody... I'll give you a weekly wellness progress update."

During the Tuesday, March 22 episode of her show, Kris told her co-hosts Darla Sauler and Jolina Magdangal that doctors are just asking her to have some rest. "I'll be back," Kris said. "Babalik po. Papagaling lang muna (I'll return. I just need to recover)."
Last March 8, Kris announced that she decided to take time off from her showbiz commitments after experiencing a spike in her blood pressure in the past months. She said that she will concentrate on being a mother to her children Josh and Bimby, and tend to her businesses as well.
