[WATCH] Rappler Live Jam: IV of Spades
Ahead of their performance at the Malasimbo Festival in Puerto Galera, the disco-funk trio returns to Rappler!

MANILA, Philippines – IV of Spades is coming back to Rappler for another Live Jam!

The band first came together in 2014 and rose to fame in 2017 after the success of a string of singles including “Ilaw sa Daan,” “Hey Barbara,” “Where Have You Been My Disco?” and, arguably their most popular hit, “Mundo.”

Originally a quartet, the band is now a trio made up of Blaster Silonga (lead guitars and vocals), Zild Benitez (bass and vocals), and Badjao de Castro (drums and vocals).

The band has since played several major shows, both locally and abroad. They opened for Panic at the Disco during the band’s Manila show in October 2018, and were also part of the lineup at Clockenflap in Hong Kong.

They kicked off 2019 with another milestone as they released their debut album, CLAPCLAPCLAP!.

IV of Spades shows no signs of slowing down so far – in March, they will be performing at the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival, set to take place in Puerto Galera on March 1 to 2.

The festival, held in a jungle reserve with private access to the island’s famous White Beach, promises a roster of local and international artists, performing along IV of Spades, including Robert Glasper, Anomalie, Laneous, I Belong to the Zoo, Coeli, and more.

Catch the band as they talk about their new music and their upcoming performance at the festival! Here’s their Live Jam setlist:
