MANILA, Philippines – Ourselves the Elves is performing on Rappler Live Jam!
The band first came together in 2011, when vocalist Alyana Cabral, guitarist Akira Medina, and drummer Ponch Salvador met in the dorm they used to live in as college students at the University of the Philippines. The band began playing together and released their first EP, It’ll Be Alright.
Joined by bassist Paula Castillo in 2015, the band then released their second EP, Geography Lessons, which became the soundtrack to Petersen Vargas’ award-winning film, Lisyun Qng Geografia.
The folk rock band hit another milestone in March 2019, when they released their first full-length album after 7 years together, The album, called Self is Universe, which explores themes on a person’s inner world and the universe around it.
