MANILA, Philippines - The shortlisted entries for the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) happening in December have been announced. The 15 films will be filtered to the final 8 on June 18.
Although long-time franchise entries such as “Enteng Kabisote,” “Ang Panday” and “Shake Rattle and Roll” will not be part of this year’s roster of films, familiar faces such as Vic Sotto and Kris Aquino (“Torky And My Little Bossing”), Ramon “Bong” Revilla (“My Super Kap”), Vice Ganda (“Boy, Girl, Bakla, Tomboy”) , Eugene Domingo (“Kimmy Dora” prequel) and Jeorge Estregan Jr. (“Boy Golden”) will return to the big screen.
Breakout stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, as well as small-screen love tandem Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria also enter the festival with their respective romance stories, “Pagpag” and “Please Be Careful With My Heart.”
Action star Robin Padilla makes a film comeback with two movies, “Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak” and “10,000 Hours.”
