[WATCH] Emotional new ‘Finding Dory’ trailer shows Dory’s backstory
'Dory, you are about to find your parents. And when you do that, you'll be –' 'Home.'

MANILA, Philippines – The new Finding Dory trailer is filled with new images and clips we’ve never seen before, revealing more of Dory’s backstory and the new characters we’ll meet as Dory goes on her quest to find her family.

“Somewhere out there is my family. I can’t find them on my own,” Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, tells her friends. Marlin and Nemo set out to help her find her parents, but as we now see in the trailer, Dory gets tangled in plastic rings in the water and gets separated from her buddies.

We also see a whole lot more of Hank the septopus, sea lions Fluke and Rudder, Bailey the beluga whale, Destiny the whale shark, and even Nemo’s new friend, Becky.

And because this is Pixar we’re talking about, we’re sure that the film will also tug on heartstrings. “Does this mean we have to say goodbye to Dory?” asks an uncertain Nemo.

Still, Marlin, Nemo, and Dory’s friends do their best to help. We hear Marlin’s encouraging voice: “Dory, you are about to find your parents. And when you do that, you’ll be –”

“Home,” Dory finishes.
