MANILA, Philippines – Dora is all grown up but that doesn’t mean she’s bidding goodbye to adventures and puzzles.
In the latest trailer for the live action movie based on the popular children’s character, Dora goes on daunting adventures – both in the jungle and in the halls of her high school.
The best part of the trailer? How self-aware everyone seems to be over the premise of the character itself – Dora, of course, is based on an animated children’s show about a young Latina girl who goes in quests with her talking purple backpack and anthropomorphic monkey friend Boots.
In the kids show, Dora often talks to the audience, asking them to answer questions crucial to her quest. In the trailer, Dora does exactly just that – only here, her father (Michael Peña) reassures her mother (Eva Longoria) that “she’ll grow out of it.”
