WATCH: First ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ trailer released

MANILA, Philippines – The trailer for the highly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation is here.

It starts slow with the job interview scene, where Ana meets Christian while she’s on assignment for the school paper. The attraction between them, however, is clear – viewers get a glimpse of the elevator kiss, a dance between the couple, and a joyful moment as Ana enjoys a thrilling helicopter ride. 

The trailer isn’t short on the sexual overtones, either. The trailer is big on crisp, clear sounds – the sound of a door being unlocked, then opened, a shocked sigh, chains clinking. 

“I don’t do romance,” Christian warns Ana. “My tastes are very…singular. You wouldn’t understand.” 

“Enlighten me then,” answers Ana, and Christian complies. 

The trailer also indicates that the movie will feature an “exclusive version of ‘Crazy in Love’ by Beyonce,” which the music superstar had teased earlier on Instagram. (READ: ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ stars on the ‘task’ of filming steamy scenes)

Famously inspired by Twilight, 50 Shades is about a graduating college student named Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), who meets the rich, successful, and enigmatic Christian Grey when she gets to interview him for her school paper.

Sparks fly, and when Christian eventually pursues Ana, he proposes that they enter into a dominant-submissive agreement. The two other books, 50 Shades Darker and 50 Shades Freed, chronicle the rest of Ana and Christian’s turbulent and eventful relationship.
