MANILA, Philippines – Just weeks after Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno premiered in Japan, comes the trailer for The Legend Ends, released via the official Rurouni Kenshin movie Facebook page and Warner Bros Philippines channel on YouTube.
If you have not seen Kyoto Inferno and do not wish to be spoiled, do not read beyond this point.
This is the final installment for the Makoto Shishio arc, also known as the Kyoto Arc. In Kyoto Inferno, ex-killer-turned-wanderer Kenshin Himura leaves a happy home and a newfound peaceful life to seek out and eliminate underground terrorist Makoto Shishio for the sake of Japan.

Along the way, he meets a new friend, fan favorite Misao Makimachi, and reunites with Sanosuke Sagara, while Kaoru Kamiya and Yahiko Myojin follow him to Kyoto.
In The Legend Ends, he must face off in the final battle with Makoto Shishio – but must also go through his henchmen, including the deceptively cheery, manic Sojiro Seta.
The trailer, currently only in Japanese, also shows glimpses of a lightning fast battle with Aoshi Shinomori, the former head of the Oniwaban Group who carries a grudge against our hero.
And fans will love the appearance of Kenshin’s teacher, the master Hiko Seijuro in the trailer – will we finally get to see a live action version of the signature Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki?
If you want to learn more about the big twists found at the end of Kyoto Inferno leading up to the beginning of Legend Ends, head over here to read our Q&A with the film’s director Keishi Otomo, who very kindly answered our burning questions.
The Legend Ends hits theaters in Manila on September 24. – Rappler.com
