Movies playing this week: ‘If I Stay,’ ‘The Gifted,’ and more
You might want to make a couple of trips to the cinema this weekend, as there's a lot to choose from in this week's movie lineup

MANILA, Philippines – Sweet romance or blood and gore? Take your pick from the lineup of movies this week.

If I Stay

Mia (Chloe Moretz) is involved in a car accident and lingers between life and death. By the end of the film, she must make a choice: stay or go? Live or die?

Coriolanus

Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers) and Sherlock‘s Mark Gatiss star in this gripping adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Coriolanus. Grab your tickets, as this will be shown on September 5 and 6 at the Greenbelt 3 cinema.

The Gifted

Anne Curtis, Cristine Reyes, and Sam Milby star in this dark comedy about two teenagers whose friendship deteriorates when they both fall for the school hunk.

Dracula Untold

Luke Evans stars in the title role in Dracula Untold. This is a unique take on the story of the pop culture icon, though in this film, he begins, like most people, as a man who simply wants to protect himself and his own.

A Million Ways To Die In The West

It’s an A-list cast in this movie written, produced, and directed by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. Fans will get to see Seth, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Syfried, Neil Patrick Harris, and Sarah Silverman in this comedy about a cowardly sheep farmer who gets entangled with some of the West’s most nefarious characters.

Beauty and the Beast

Lea Seydoux plays Belle, one of the daughters of a young merchant who is punished after he plucks a rose from the home of the frightening Beast. To save her father, she takes his place at the Beast’s home and gets to know him in the process.

Life After Beth

Aubrey Plaza is Beth, who’s mysteriously restored to life after her untimely death, shocking her boyfriend Zach and the people around her. When Beth starts to develop some zombie-like characteristics, including an appetite for people, things start to go awry.

Nymph

“Mysterious, irresistible, deadly,” goes the description in the trailer. You wouldn’t want to be stuck swimming in dangerous waters with the killer mermaid featured in this horror flick.
