In photos: Dennis Trillo, LJ Reyes, more at ‘The Janitor’ premiere

MANILA, Philippines – The red carpet premiere of The Janitor, the multi-awarded movie at the 2014 Cinemalaya film festival, was held at SM City North Edsa’s Cinema 2 at The Block, Tuesday night, October 7. (READ: Movie reviews: All 5 ‘Directors Showcase’ 2014 films)

Lead stars Dennis Trillo and LJ Reyes, together with supporting actors Alex Medina, Ynez Veneracion, Sunshine Garcia, Jerald Napoles, and Nicco Manalo graced the event as they waved to their fans.

Direk Mike Tuviera, who won best director in Cinemalaya 2014, thanked the crowd for attending the event despite the bad weather. 

“Maraming maraming salamat sa pagpunta at asahan niyo na maganda ang pelikulang ito,” he said.

LJ Reyes, who plays Melba, the wife of Dennis Trillo’s character Crisanto Espina, echoed the director’s words.

“Mag e-enjoy kayo sa pelikulang ito kasi pinagpaguran.” (You will definitely enjoy the film because everyone worked really hard on this).

Others who supported the stars of the film include Ciara Sotto and her husband.

The special screening started at around 8:30 pm and ended two hours later. All of the actors and the crew then went to an after-party held in the film’s honor. 

The Janitor is based on the mass killings of bank employees in San Pedro Laguna in 2011 in which P10 million was stolen. The film also stars Derek Ramsey who plays the antagonist in the film, Richard Gomez and Ricky Davao who play police officials, Raymond Bagatsing, who plays Trillo’s target, and Irma Adlawan and Dante Rivero, who play Trillo’s parents.

The Janitor ,co-produced by ATP Productions and Star Cinema, starts its commercial run on October 8. – Rappler.com
