MANILA, Philippines – Fans, get ready. Star Wars: The Force Awakens will arrive in cinemas this December 17, a day ahead of its US release on December 18. 

Watch early – Disney says The Force Awakens will give way to the movies in the annual Metro Manila Film Festival lineup, then return after the festival concludes in the first week of January 2016. 

You’ll still be able to watchStar Warsduring this time, but only at the IMAX theaters at SM Malls – check out the locations here

The trailer coincided with the Star Wars Celebration held in Anaheim, California. The event was attended by director film director JJ Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. (READ: ‘Star Wars’ emojis now available on Twitter)

Three of the stars – John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Daisy Ridley – and some of the cast from the first Star Wars trilogy (Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Peter Mayhew) were also present during the event, to the delight of the fans. – Rappler.com
