MANILA, Philippines – We all know Beyonce is queen. That's just a fact. But the newest teaser for the upcoming remake of The Lion King leaves no doubt over whether she'd make a good lion queen too.
In the teaser released on Disney's official platforms and Beyonce's official YouTube channel, the singer-songwriter calls out to Simba.
"Simba, you have to take your place as king," says Beyonce as Nala.
"We need you. Come home," she continues.
The Lion King, which comes to theaters in July, is the photorealistic computer-generated remake of the classic 1994 Disney movie.
It features a star-studded cast with Beyonce as Nala, Donald Glover as Simba, JD McCrary as young Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, Shahadi Wright Joseph as young Nala, and James Earl Jones as Mufasa.
The Lion King follows the life of Simba, son of Mufasa and Prince of the Pride Lands. Scar, Simba's uncle and Mufasa's brother, betrays Mufasa and forces Simba to flee. He grows up with Timon and Pumbaa away from the Pride Lands but is forced to return home as a young adult. – Rappler.com
