‘Peter Pan & Wendy' is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2022

Disney’s live-action reboot, Peter Pan & Wendy, is officially in development. The upcoming movie is based on J.M. Barrie’s 1911 novel of the same name and inspired by the original 1953 animated classic.

The film will be a retelling of the adventure of the Darling siblings in Neverland with a boy who refuses to grow up and is slated for release in 2022.

According to a Variety report, Alexander Molony (The Reluctant Landlord) was cast as Peter Pan with Ever Anderson (Black Widow) co-starring as Wendy. Also included in the cast are Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and Yara Shahidi (Grown-ish) who will play Captain Hook and Tinkerbell, respectively.

Peter Pan & Wendy will be the second Disney live-action adaption for director David Lowery and producer Jim Whitaker, who both worked on Pete’s Dragon (2016).

Disney said reboot would premiere on Disney+, but have not announced a specific release date. –with reports from Jewel Camacho/Rappler.com
