Actor Alfred Molina will be reprising his role as the 8-limbed villain from 2004's 'Spider-Man 2' film!

Seems like the Spidey-verse will be expanding for Spider-Man 3!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Alfred Molina will be reprising his role as sinister Doctor Octopus in the upcoming 3rd sequel of the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film series.

Antagonist Doctor Octopus, also known as mad scientist Otto Octavius, first made his appearance in 2004’s Spider-Man 2 starring Tobey Maguire and directed by Sam Raimi.

The iconic villain will be joining fellow bad guy Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, who is set to reprise his role as well in the new film. Electro was the nemesis of 2014’s Spider-Man, played by Andrew Garfield, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, will also be making an appearance in the 3rd film, joining original cast Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori.

Spider-Man 3 is directed by Jon Watts, who also took the helm for Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. It is slated for a December 2021 release under Sony Pictures and Marvel’s new deal. – Rappler.com
