Grammy-winning pop star Dua Lipa will be making her acting debut in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming spy thriller, Argylle, according to a Hollywood Reporter report.

The British singer-songwriter will be starring alongside a Hollywood A-lister cast, which includes Superman’s Henry Cavill, Avengers’ Samuel L. Jackson, Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston, wrestling star John Cena, Jurrasic World’s Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as actor Sam Rockwell and Catherine O’Hara.

Aside from her undisclosed acting role, Dua, 25, will also be the voice behind the film’s original title track and score. Details on the film’s release have yet to be confirmed.

Vaughn, who helmed the Kingsman franchise, will be directing the film, while Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) will be writing the script. Zygi Kamasa, Carlos Peres, Claudia Vaughn, and Adam Fishbach will serve as executive producers.

Argylle will be the first movie of a trilogy, and is expected to film in the United States, London, and other countries, starting with Europe in August 2021. The thriller is based on the recently-launched spy novel of the same name by author Ellie Conway.

Argylle centers around Argylle, “the world’s greatest spy,” as he finds himself in a thrilling adventure that takes him around the globe. Conway’s debut thriller novel will be published by Transworld Publishers Limited, under Penguin Random House, in a major launch in 2022. – Rappler.com
