DC's super villains are set to hit Philippine theaters and HBO Max on August 6

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the new R-rated full length trailer of James Gunn’s upcoming The Suicide Squad.

The humorous and colorful age-restricted trailer on YouTube gave DC fans a taste of what’s to come in August 2021.

Writer and director James Gunn is bringing DC Comics to life for the first time, featuring “a collection of the most degenerated delinquents in the DC lineup.” He had previously helmed Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film series.

To celebrate the release of the trailer, the film’s official Twitter account dropped the epic posters to welcome back returning characters and to introduce the newcomers.

The star-studded super villain cast includes a few of the original cast members from David Ayers’ 2016 Suicide Squad, such as Margot Robbie (Birds of Prey), Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop), and Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder).

The new faces of the action adventure film include Idris Elba (Avengers: Infinity War), John Cena (Bumblebee), Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live), Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo), and many others.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Cena’s character Peacemaker is getting its own HBO Max spinoff. It will be Gunn’s first feature since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017.

Gunn’s action-packed film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures worldwide and is set to hit theaters and HBO Max on August 6. – with reports from Jewel Camacho/Rappler.com
