The first few episodes of the show will reportedly stream on Paramount+ on May 27. The next episodes will roll out on a later date.

Rugrats is based on the original Nickelodeon children television series, reimagined in 3D and CGI. Its premiere episode, Second Time Around, which will be an hour-long feature showing Tommy lead “the babies on a daring adventure to help Chuckie after his big attempt to be brave goes horribly wrong,” according to Nickelodeon.

The series will also feature the voices of the original cast from the original cartoon: E.G. Daily (Tommy Pickles), Cheryl Chase (Angelica Pickles), Cree Summer (Susie Carmichael), Nancy Cartwright (Chuckie Finster), and Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil DeVille). 

The original series, which was animated in 2D, premiered in 1991 and became one of Nickelodeon’s most popular cartoons. It ended its run in 1994. The show lasted for nine seasons and has brought forth three movies and an animated teen spinoff, All Grown Up.
