Disney released late Wednesday, October 21, the first teaser trailer for its upcoming feature, Raya and the Last Dragon.
Raya and the Last Dragon is the first animated Disney feature to take inspiration from Southeast Asian culture.
It’s set in the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons once lived together in harmony. When evil threatens the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves for the sake of humanity. Centuries later, the same evil is back and it’s up to Raya to find the last dragon and save Kumandra.
In the two-minute trailer, we’re introduced to Raya and see snippets of the adventure she embarks on. We don’t hear Sisu the dragon just yet but get a glimpse of the mythical creature towards the end.
Disney also released new stills from the upcoming film.

The film is directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directed by Paul Briggs and John Ripa, and produced by Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho.
Kelly Marie Tran voices Raya while comedian Awkwafina plays Sisu, the last dragon.
Raya and the Last Dragon was originally slated for a November 2020 release but this has since been moved to March 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic. No specific date has been set for its Philippine release, but it’s slated to open in Philippine theaters in 2021. – Rappler.com
