After discovering a strange object and encountering an abnormally large cicada monster, the two timid mutts, along with Shaggy, Fred, Velma, Daphne, Muriel, and Eustace, embark on a quest to solve the mystery of the giant insects and stop them before they take over the world.

Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog stars the familiar voices of Frank Welker as Scooby and Fred, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Grey Griffin as Daphne, and Kate Micucci as Velma. Marty Grabstein, the original voice actor for Courage, returns to bring life to the character, with Jeff Bergman voicing Eustace.

The film was directed and produced by Cecilia Aranovich and was written by Mike Ryan.

In a statement by Aranovich published by SyFy Wire, she wrote that “”[the film] is definitely going to trigger acute nostalgia for those of us who grew up watching both Scooby-Doo and Courage shows, and it will also bring these wonderful characters to a new generation of viewers.”

Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog arrives on Digital and DVD in the US on September 14.

The release also includes three bonus episodes from the Scooby-Doo franchise: “Decoy for a Dognapper” from Scooby Doo, Where Are You!, “The Gruesome Game of the Gator Ghoul” from The Scooby Doo/Dynomutt Hour, and “Chiller Diller Movie Thriller” from The Scooby Doo/Dynomutt Hour. – with reports from John Patrick Magno Ranara/Rappler.com
