MANILA, Philippines – After the anime masterpiece that was Kimi no Na wa (Your Name), Japanese director Makoto Shinkai is back again, this time with a new trailer and movie poster for his upcoming film, Tenki no Ko: Weathering With You (Weather Child: Weathering With You).

According to SM Cinemas'  website, Weathering With You will be premiering in the Philippines starting August 21, 2019.

The 2-minute trailer released on Tuesday, May 28 features popular Japanese band RADWIMPS singing the movie's theme song, "Grand Escape." RADWIMPS also provided the original soundtrack for Kimi no Na wa.

Directing and writing the script will be Shinkai himself, while Masayoshi Tanaka is in charge of the character designs, according to an Inquirer.net report. 

On Weathering With You's official website, the plot is said to be a "love story" between a young boy who escaped to Tokyo, Mr. Takataka, and a girl named Haina, who seemingly has the power to control the weather.

Tenki no Ko: Weathering With You is set to premiere in Japan in July 19, 2019. There are also plans to release it in Asia, North America, Europe, and South America. – Rappler.com
