Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren. They will be joined by The Haunting of Hill House’s Julian Hillard, The Spanish Princess’ Ruairi O’Connor, and Monsterland’s Sarah Catherine Hook.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is based on the chilling story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a couple fighting for the soul of a child and a murder suspect claiming demonic possession as his defense.

Michael Chaves of The Curse of La Llorona will direct the film while David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick of Aquaman will write the screenplay, based on a story by Johnson-McGoldrick and James Wan.

The Conjuring universe has earned more than $1.8 billion globally, starting with James Wan’s The Conjuring in 2013, followed by The Conjuring 2 in 2016. The franchise’s spin-offs include Annabelle (2014), Annabelle: Creation (2017), and Annabelle Comes Home (2019), and The Nun (2018). – with reports from Aloe Ynion/Rappler.com
