20th Century Studios released on Wednesday, July 7 a “special look” teaser for The King’s Man on YouTube.
Set during World War I, the spy film will introduce the origin of the Kingsman agency, which follows Orlando Oxford (Ralph Fiennes), an agent who takes a new recruit under his wing (Harris Dickinson) in order to stop an evil plot by some of history’s worst tyrants and masterminds.
The King’s Man is the prequel film and third installment of the Kingsman film franchise, following Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017). All three are directed and written by Matthew Vaughn.
Joining Fiennes and Dickinson in the ensemble for The King’s Man are Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill), Matthew Goode (Chasing Liberty), Tom Hollander (Pride & Prejudice), Daniel Brühl (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond), and Charles Dance (The Crown).
The film, which will be distributed by 20th Century Studios, was originally set for a November 2019 release, but was postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now expected to be released on December 22, 2021. – with reports from Angelica Burlaza/Rappler.com
