From selling EPs out of her backpack to playing at the upcoming Bandwagon Riverboat festival in Singapore, BP Valenzuela has come a long way.

I first came across BP in college, where she quickly gained popularity on campus for her music and distinct live performance style – creating beats and recording sounds to loop, providing her own backing music to complement her vocals.

In the span of a few months, BP was going door-to-door at student organizations’ rooms asking if anyone wanted to buy her EP, starring in her own music video with the help of a common friend of ours, and then transferring to a different school to study music.

Today, BP has released her first full-length album The Neon Hour and plays small gigs and big music festivals like Wanderland 2015 and GoodVybes Fest 2016. She’ll be playing at Bandwagon Riverboat in Singapore on June 10, too.
